Whatever means the most to you, I can paint it.
A collector wanted a painting of every house the family had lived at in London, but on a single street. I got the address of each property and did a tour with my camera getting photos that I combined in Photoshop to provide the reference.
This painting of a house and garden in Clifton, Bristol was commissioned as a birthday present for the owners wife. We discussed the time of day that would work best and went through a multitude of different options regarding the angle from which to approach the piece to show the house and garden in it’s full glory.
If you have an area in mind that means a lot to you, or to a loved one, please let me know. I like to choose the actual painting spots myself, as not all viewpoints make for good paintings, but I am keen for requests on specific areas to work in. My preference is Bristol, Bath, London, Devon, Dorset, Cornwall and South Wales as these are local to me.
You can commission a small plein air painting completed on location, or a larger studio painting completed from photo reference.
Finished works can be viewed and collected from the studio, or I can have it couriered to you.
I don’t take deposits and only ask for payment when the painting is finished and I’m sure you are 100% happy.
This piece was commissioned by a couple in Bath that wanted a painting of their street.

This piece was commissioned as a wedding present for the buyers friends who used to live on this street in Bath. I choose a sunny day and walked the street a few times to find the best viewpoint and settled on one that showed both sides of the road. The contrast of the shadow side opposite the sunny side added some nice dynamics.
House and Garden, Bath.
This painting was done in the studio after first painting a smaller version on location. I like to work from life if I can to make sure I get a real feel for the place and record accurate colour.
I had a great time doing the location piece, it’s always nice to visit the home of a collector and see your work up on their walls.

This piece was for one of my keenest collectors who had a number of smaller plein air paintings I had done of London. He asked that I paint Hampstead High Street, so I chose early morning as this threw the most marvellous shadow up the side of the post box.
